I came across another ‘feel-good’ news story from Daily Coffee News, there is nothing I love more than buying Coffee but more than that is when you come across brands and store fronts that are selling with a purpose. In this case to help employ more homeless women in the Portland are— “City Coffee was founded in 2013 as a nonprofit business unit of Central City Concern. Through various social enterprises, the nearly 40-year-old Portland nonprofit helps to transform the lives of homeless women through securing housing, providing services and network to improve lifestyles and maintain sobriety, and, finally, by providing training and volunteering opportunities for women to seek gainful employment, the final step to self-sufficiency.”

On October 31st they launched new designs for their core blends, the bags of coffee showcase beautiful designs of different types of women, with empowering names and powers:

Gutsy Goddess: French Roast, Bold, Balanced, Dark Chocolate
Punk Princess: Dark roast, milk chocolate, nutty
Warrior Woman: Medium Roast, most popular, Caramel, Pear, Cinnamon
Magic Mama: Light Roast, floral, berries, vanilla
Serene Sorceress: Medium/ Dark Decaf, Swiss water processed, Rich, Nutty, Chocolaty
Solstice Sister: Seasonal Holiday Medium Roast, currants, spices

This is so incredibly great, it really is inspirational and so honest- it shows love to others that may be in a very tough place, this is what a -feel-good’ business is about, helping others and creating hope to places where hopelessness is all they have known. This company is also raising awareness by doing this, look at everything they have already done:  “Since 2013, Central City has employed 35 women, with 60 dependent children, through the Central City Coffee program, graduating 13 women in 2017. The group estimates that 20 women will graduate in 2018, and that 80 percent of graduates have exited with employment or a full-time education, with 90 percent exiting the program with stable housing.”‘

If you want to see the designs check out the article and also if you are inspired they do sell online, so we can all make a difference:)
